FIRST COAST SUGAR GLIDERS

"HOME OF THE SWEETEST JOEYS IN FLORIDA"

Suncoast/Zookeepers

SUNCOAST/ZOOKEEPERS

This diet is based on a 3 part routine:

  1. A fresh protein source - offered on a four day rotation with one item offered from the list daily:
    • Mealworms - 10-12 small, 7-10 medium, or 3-5 large mealworms per glider.
    • Crickets - feed 3-5 crickets per sugar glider.
    • Boiled eggs (without shells) mixed with high protein/low sugar cereal (like Corn Flakes or Special K) and mixed with either honey or apple juice.  One tablespoon is offered per 2 sugar gliders.
    • Yogurt (blueberry or peach) - 1 tablespoon per 2 sugar gliders.
  2. A fresh source of fruits and/or vegetables.  The fruit and vegetable servings should be sprinkled with a daily dose of vitamin (Vionate Vitamin/Mineral Nutritional Supplement) and calcium (Rep-Cal) supplements to ensure adequate nutrition.  ** Both fresh components should be fed in the evening with uneaten portions removed in the morning.
    • Apples
    • Pears
    • Sweet  Potatoes
    • Watermelons
    • Honeydue
    • Cantaloupe
    • Carrots
    • Kiwi
    • Mango
    • Oranges
    • Blueberries
  3. A staple food available all day, everyday to make sure that adequate food amounts are offered.  You will probably find that the gliders will eat the fresh fods first and will nibble at the staple food throughout the day and night.
