You might be asking yourself ... Where do I start learning about these animals??? There is so much information out there!!! And some are even contradictory.
Anyone who is thinking about adopting a sugar glider should try to learn as much as they can about this species before jumping in the bad wagon. It is our policy at First Coast Sugar Gliders to educate future parents as much as we can so that both glider and slave have a wonderful time together.
Also, by educating future slaves, we reduce the number of gliders that are put up for adoption because their slave cannot handle them, or take care of them anymore. Most of the impulse bought gliders end up in shelters by the end of their first year. This is a sad statistic and one that every breeder in the US is striving to reduce.
I have performed research on these little guys for a long time and the information contained in this site is my own collection of what I have learned by reading books, articles, and other breeder's websites. I have tried to compile all the information in one website so that it is easier for you to make a decision.
